Yep, they're little clay pots. Cool! I'd love to have them in the tank. Would they work as a pot for a growing plant, or do you think they'd be too small? Any tips on how I would go about moving the plants rooted in the aquarium, to these pots? I don't want to damage them, as they're finally starting to grow well. Thanks for your response. 😊
Too, terracotta is porous and houses beneficial bacteria needed to help sustain the tanks cycle. I have photos in my profile if you care to take a peek, my 265g has a lot of terracotta pots and terracotta ornaments. Sand any rough edges the pots/ornaments may have then rinse them and they are ready to go into the aquarium.

Terracotta pots are a lot better than glass cups when planting bigger plants or in larger fish tanks where you want small pots will fade in the background. As you would while planting any live aquarium plants, just add a layer of eco-soil and a gravel bed on top of it then add your plants.

Everytime I clean the filters the plants get messed up as I try to get at the filters. So has anyone planted plants in small terracotta pots so they could be moved easily? In my snail trap tank I monitored all params including hardness to see if there was any change. I didn't see any so I think this stuff is pretty inert.

I dont have a GOOD picture per se, but I have a picture of my 20g when I first started aquascaping it for my clawed frogs. It was nowhere near done, but I had to put the plants in terra-cotta pots because my biggest frog would dig up anything I didnt weight VERY well under a lot of substrate, or super glue to the wood.

I really want to do a under water garden look (with real plants) and have a small terra cotta pot already in the tank but this brings me to my question are clay pots aquarium safe? it looks pretty much the same as a terra cotta pot and was purchased at my local garden centre.
